Aspects (การณ์ลักษณะ)
1. Progressive Aspect
1.1 กำลังดำเนินอยู่
a) ดำเนินต่อเนื่อง
She was sleeping.
b) เกิดขึ้นและจบลงอย่างรวดเร็ว
The boy is hitting my dog with a stick.
c) เหตุการณ์ที่ยังไม่เสร็จสิ้นสมบูรณ์
I am writing a book on global warming
d) เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นชั่วคราว
She is living in London.
2. Perfective Aspect
1. เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นแล้ว และมีความเชื่อมโยงกับเหตุการณ์ภายหลัง
The thief had run away when the police arrived.
2. เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นแล้ว และดำเนินอยู่ถึงปัจจุบัน
We have lived in Japan since last year.
3. เหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นแล้ว แต่ไม่ระบุเวลาแน่ชัด เกิดขึ้นอย่างน้อย 1 ครั้ง นับจนขณะปัจจุบัน
I have been to India before.
4. เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นแล้ว และยังส่งผลอยู่ในขณะปัจจุบัน
He has cut himself.

Example

1. คนส่วนใหญ่เชื่อว่าสุนัขเป็นเพื่อนที่ดีที่สุดของมนุษย์
Most people believe that dogs are man’s best friend.
2. ปัจจุบันอัตราการว่างงานในประเทศไทย อยู่ที่ 28%
At present the unemployment in Thailand is 28%
3. น้องสาวฉันดื่มน้ำ 1 แก้ว ทุกเช้า
My sister drinks a glass of water every morning.
4. ตั้งแต่น้อยลาออกจากงาน เธอไม่เคยโทรหาฉันเลย
Since Noi quit the job, she has never called me.
5. รัฐบาลประกาศขึ้นราคาน้ำมันแล้ว
The government has announced an increase in oil price.
6. ก. เล็กไปประเทศญี่ปุ่นมา 2 ครั้งแล้ว
Lek has been to Japan twice.
ข. ใหญ่ไปอเมริกาแล้วจะกลับมาเดือนหน้า
Yai has gone to the States and will be back next month.
7. คุณทำงานหนักมาตลอด ตอนนี้คุณควรพักผ่อนบ้างได้แล้ว
You have been working hard. Now you should rest/get a rest/relax-get a relex
8. ระหว่างที่ฉันรอพบหมอ ฉันอ่านนิตยาสารจบไป 2 เล่ม
While I was waiting for seeing the doctor, I read two magazines.
9. ก.ตอนที่ฉันเข้าไปที่ห้องนั่งเล่น สามีฉันกำลังดูข่าวอยู่
When I went into the living room, my husband was watching news.
ข. ตอนที่ฉันเข้าไปในห้องนั่งเล่น สามีฉันนั่งดูข่าวจบแล้ว
When I went into the living room , my husband had watched news.
10. ศักดิ์สูบบุหรี่มานาน 30 ปี แต่เขาเลิกบุหรี่ได้แล้วเมื่อ 2 ปีก่อน
Sak had been smoking for 30 years , but he gave up smoking two years ago / stop.
11. เขาจะเอาหนังสือมาคืนวันศุกร์
She will return the book to you on Friday.
12. ฉันกำลังจะเริ่มงานใหม่อาทิตย์หน้า
I am going to start a new job next week.
Exercise
1. อย่าโทรมาหาฉันช่วง 6 โมง ถึงทุ่มนะฉันกำลังกินข้าวเย็นอยู่นะ
Don’t call me in the middle of 6 pm. to 7 pm. I was eating dinner at the time.
2. โทรมาหาฉันทุ่มหนึ่งนะ ฉันกินข้าวเสร็จแล้ว
Call me after 7 pm. I have finished dinner at the time.
3. เมื่อเช้านี้ตอนเราไปถึงที่ทำงานก็พบว่ามีคนงัดเข้าไปบริษัทตอนกลางคืน
-This morning we go to office we see that people breaking into the company last night.
4. จอยบอกฉันว่าเขาจะไปเที่ยวเชียงใหม่ในเดือนพฤษภาคม
-Joy told me that she will travel to Chiang Mai in May.
5. เธอคิดอะไรตอนที่ซื้อกระโปรงตัวนี้นะมันสั้นมาก
What do you think this buying a skirt it is very short.
